(Trust The Will of The King)
At the heart of the gospel of Jesus there is the kingdom of God. Every Kingdom has a king, a ruler.
Let's establish the fact, that the Kingdom of God or heaven is not a physical place, and because the kingdom of God originates in heaven, it is also called, “the kingdom of heaven”. It is the spiritual realm over which God reigns as king, and the fulfillment on Earth of God's will.
We have to accept that God is King. Christ is King and Christ is God, who is King of kings. Sometimes we may want to do what we feel is good and right for the kingdom, but the Lord may say "No".
In His infinite wisdom, God knows what, where, and when we are to move, to act and to speak. Kingdom dwellers should consult, trust and obey God in all things. The bible says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)"
This is illustrated in I Chronicles 29. King David was the anointed king of Israel. He was chosen by the Lord while King Saul was on the throne. David was faithful to the Lord, he was repentant when he did wrong, and he loved the Lord with all his heart. David had a desire to build a house to honor God.
A place where God could meet with man. But this was not the plan God had for a temple or for David. Though David was "a man after God's own heart" (Acts 13:22) he was a man of war and had blood on His hands. So, God would not allow him to do build a temple.
We can see in this that in God's kingdom His standards are not compromised. And even though David could not personally build the temple for God, still he rejoiced in the fact that he was allowed to contribute to its construction.
King David appointed stone cutters to prepare stone for building the house of God. He provided a large amount of iron. He supplied so much bronze it could not be weighed and more cedar logs than could be counted. He gave gold and silvers and jewels for the adornments in the temple.
Then he charged his son Solomon with the project. And David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore, I will make preparations for it.” So, David made extensive preparations before his death. {1 Chronicles 22:2-5.}
David accepted God's decision and inspired others in the kingdom to give what they had to the building of the temple as well. He played a very important part in building the temple, giving of his resources and even his son for the honoring of the Lord. He let his light shine before the people and praised God.
And in the process his son Solomon was also exalted in the nation for carrying out the vision of his father. As Christians we are not to be casual contributors to the Kingdom but to be committed and faithful.
Trusting God every step of the way. God knows your abilities and will provide every resource you need to accomplish His purpose. Your love and appreciation for what God has given you is evident in your living, your giving, your praise, your service and your sacrifice.
Give of yourselves to the benefit of the Kingdom
1. Give your best. "That God be glorified."(Matthew 5:16)
2. Give personally. "Give what you have." (Luke 12:48)
3. Give willingly. “Whatever you do, do it from the heart." (2 Corinthians 9:6)
4. Give continuously. "It is more blessed to give than to receive."(Acts 20:35)
Just remember the kingdom of God is spiritual and eternal. The blessings of the kingdom are not money, power, or material gains. The main benefit of the kingdom is forgiveness of sins, but with it comes righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17).
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
