“Do What You Can Do”(Leave The Rest To God)Chronicles 7:14

January 21, 2022

Everyday situations sometimes leave us feeling helpless and hopeless. So, when a tragedy comes our way we may feel completely devastated. The word of God gives us a very simple formula for handling devastating times. A. Be Humble - God wants to exalt us and care for us. As we humble ourselves, we truly worship Him. We’re trusting Him with what’s going on in our lives and believing He is the provider instead of ourselves. James 4:10 B. Pray - Prayer is an opportunity to spend time with God. Talking with God develops a deeper relationship with Him and brings the much needed assistance or comfort when facing difficult circumstances John 15:15 C. Seek God's Face - To seek God Seeking God's face is to desire to be in His presence. The Lord wants us to humbly and trustingly seek His face in our prayers and in our times in His Word. Jeremiah 29:13. D. Turn From Your Wicked Ways- Living in sin and wickedness, according to the scriptures is hating and ignoring God’s Words. (Psalms 66: 18-20) Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. (James 1:6-7). Daniel was a perfect example of what humility, prayer, seeking God and putting away evil can do. His daily pray life established a relationship with God so that when Daniel was ordered not to communicate with God, he continued to seek God's face through prayer and was thrown into the lion's den. Although praying got him there: it was his prayers and his relationship with God that brought him out of the lion's den untouched. Daniel 6:10-23. We should be consistent in our relationship with God. It prepares us for whatever comes up. As God's people we have the power to make a difference when devastating situations occur in our lives, our families lives and the world around us. But God cannot work for us if we don't allow Him to work in us. Colossians 2:6-7.
