“Come Out of Your Cave”1 Kings 19: 1-9, 1 Samuel 22, 24:3-6 July 21, 2021

Elijah was one of the most powerful prophets in the Old Testament times. His faith in God had given him the power to call down fire from heaven (1Kings 18:38) and to stop rain from falling for three years (1Kings 17:1). But after performing such miracles, Elijah found himself in a situation he never thought he would be in. When he heard the threats from Jezebel to kill him, Elijah's mind painted such a vivid picture of what was to become of him, that he became discouraged and so fearful. This fear caused him to “shelter in” in a cave, where he even begged for the Lord to take his life.

There are saints today who have great testimonies of God's favor, grace and power but are just like Elijah; being driven into “caves” of uncertainty, doubt, fear, anxiety, stress, depression and many other binding situations because we are failing to trust God and forgetting the power given to those of us who believe in Christ Jesus. John 14:12, Luke 10:19.

God came to Elijah in the cave and told him to come out. And he said, “Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord.” 1 King 19:11. Elijah obeyed and was able to go on to continue his work for the Lord. David also had escaped to a cave, during trying times, but his faith and obedience to God brought him out. 1 Samuel 22

The word tell us that there will be trials and tribulations in our lives, but God does not intend for us to stay there. God wants to use {even} the unpleasant situations in our lives to enhance our walk, increase our faith and to move us to a new level. Our “caves” are meant to be temporary. A place of transition and a new vision. God is calling us to live the life He has promised us. Jesus was crucified and put in a cave but He came out of the cave with all power. We are inheritors of that power, so some out of that cave.

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13.

Be Blessed!
